My animal is the Blue Morpho Butterfly. The butterflies are about 10 inches. Their color is a bright blue, with an edge of black. On the back of their wings there is microscopic scales which reflects the sun light, making the butterfly a really bright blue.
The butterfly lives in the tropical rainforest, (South America) and stays in the understory, and the forest floor. The butterflies doen't need homes, they just are free to fly where ever they want to go.
When the butterfly is a caterpillar, it eats leaves, but when it's a butterfly it drinks its food. The butterfly drinks nectar from any flower that grows in the rainforest.
Blue Morpho Butterflies lay eggs which will become caterpillars. The caterpillars will later form a chrysalis and become an adult. When the babys are born they stay on a leaf with their mother.
It folds its wings, and their wings turn brown, so they go near trees, and camouflaged from predators. The butterflies enemies are: birds, bigger insects and just about any bigger animals.
