The Inuits moved from place to place so they had homes that could be made easily.  In the winter they lived in an igloo made of blocks of snow.  They left a small hole at the top for air.  They did not have any furniture, just platforms.  For heat and light they used a lamp to heat blubber.  They also had animal skins to sleep.  Sometimes families put their igloos together with tunnels to visit.  In the summer they lived in tents made of seal skin and caribou skin hung on ridge poles and a stand pole.  The Inuits used all the things they had.  The word Igloo means a type of house or shelter.  To make an igloo you have to have tons of snow on the ground  when the men make the igloo they have to make sure everything fits in perfectly.
