Termite

What has six legs and eats wood? If you guessed a termite you were right.  Termites are cool and they sometimes help people. You will learn more about this in my report. Do termites have a queen? Yes. The queen really helps the colony.

What do termites look like and how do they get around you might ask. A termite has a brown or red head and its body is white or clear. Sometimes you can see the food inside there stomach. Termites have short legs and wings. The queen is the size of a hotdog and she lays all of the eggs! Termites crawl or fly to get around. You might know a lot about termites now but there are still more paragraphs to read.

Termites have a habitat different from other animals. Termites live under ground to keep worm. Most termites live in huge mounds and sometimes the mounds are over water. Termites live in worm arid places. Without there mounds of dirt called sky scrapers a termite might die of starvation. If you think this is cool you will like my next paragraph

Have you ever wondered what termites eat or what eats termites because your about to find out. Soldier termites protect the colony with there big jaws. A soldiers jaws are so big that workers have to feed the soldiers pre digested food. Common enemies like the eastern mole and the wood frog love to eat termites so termites make tons of colenys. Also people have to get rid of termites because termites eat our houses. Most termites love the wood in our houses so it might take a week to get rid of them.

All insects go through three special stages. A termite goes through something called metamorphosis. Metamorphosis starts with an egg and soon it will crack open. After the egg cracks a nymph comes out! The nymph keeps shedding until it becomes an adult. This is called a incomplete metamorphosis. When a termite sheds its skin falls off over and over. This is a good paragraph but there is one more.

I bet you’ve learned a lot about termites. Imagine what it would be like to be a termite. All I know is it would be pretty tiring and I wouldn’t live long.

Wow termites have a crazy Habitat.  Did you know that the termite has a warm claimant and travel as a group because the termite hates light?  The termite lives in a camber a chamber they try to live in an above ground and live in fallen tree or in a house but the house is not on the ground just yet.  Might be a termite in your house and you can find it now.

Crazy wicked that is what describes the termites servile.  The termite eat wooden buildings, telephone poles, paper, this is some things they eat the termite predators are a bird because a termite is smaller then a bird and people because kill them as a living those are it predators.  Wow I’m letting some bird is in my house tonight.

Egg, nymph, adult, egg, nymph, adult this is the termite’s life cycle.  The termite has incomplete metamorphic which is if you where listening egg nymph adult in the egg prose the mom lays the egg’s and it hatches and is now a nymph that is a mini adult by meaning a mini copy of the adult .  So if you see a termite try to figure out watch cycle it is in.
