My animal is the toucan. He is in the bird family. He has a narrow tongue. He has many different colors like blue, red, green, orange, and black. When their babies are born they are light pink. Toucans have striped beaks.
The toucans live in South America rainforests. They live inside a tree in a nest so that their predators don’t see them. The toucan eats tree frogs when they’re hopping by. The toucan can just grab it with their beak. They eat small fruit like grapes by grabbing it with their beaks. They eat insects and rodents. They eat bird eggs when the bird isn’t there.
The toucan’s babies hatch from an egg. Each toucan sits on their egg for one hour. The other toucan looks out for predators.
The toucans protect themselves by going into small groups of toucans. Their enemies are eagles and humans.
